A SIM card that installs digitally. Instead of a plastic card, your phone downloads the profile and stores it internally. Nothing is posted to you, and nothing needs swapping when you land.
Does my phone support it?
Most phones released since 2018 do — iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, and recent Samsung Galaxy S and Note models. The quickest check: open your phone's settings and search for “eSIM”. If the option is there, you are fine. Phones bought in mainland China and some carrier-locked handsets have it disabled.
Do I keep my own number?
Yes. The travel eSIM is a second line for data only. Your usual SIM stays in the phone and keeps working for calls, SMS and WhatsApp — just turn off data roaming on it so it does not quietly bill you.
Can I make calls and send SMS?
No. These plans are data only. Calls and messages over the internet — WhatsApp, Telegram, FaceTime, Signal — work normally.
Which network will I be on?
It depends on the destination. Each country page lists the operators the plan uses. Coverage and speed are whatever that operator provides locally; we resell their network rather than running our own.
Installing
How do I install it?
On an iPhone running iOS 17.4 or later you can paste the activation code and the system takes over. On Android, and on older iPhones, you scan the QR code or type the SM-DP+ address and activation code into your phone's eSIM settings. Both routes are shown on your order page.
Why is Android more work?
Android only lets an app install an eSIM directly if the profile carries that app's credentials — something only a mobile operator can do, not a reseller. Every reseller has this limitation, so Android installs go through the phone's own settings screen.
Should I install before I travel or after I land?
Install before you leave, while you still have reliable internet — installing needs a connection, which is exactly what you will not have on arrival. Installing does not start the plan.
Can I install the same eSIM on a second phone?
No. An eSIM profile can only be installed once. If you delete it from your phone it cannot be recovered, so do not remove it until the plan has expired.
Using your plan
When does my plan start?
When the eSIM first connects to a network in the destination — not when you buy it and not when you install it. A 30-day plan gives you 30 days from that first connection.
I have no data after landing. What do I check?
Three things, in order: the travel line is switched on, data roaming is enabled for that line, and it is selected as your mobile data line. All three live in your phone's cellular settings. Roaming sounds wrong but is correct — from the network's point of view the eSIM is roaming.
What happens when my data runs out?
The connection stops. There is no overage charge and nothing is billed automatically — you simply top up when you want more.
Can I add more data to an eSIM I already installed?
Yes. Buying a top-up for an eSIM you already have avoids installing anything again.
Money
Which currency am I charged in?
US dollars. Other currencies on the site are a conversion shown for reading — your bank converts at its own rate on the day, so the figure on your statement can differ slightly.
How does cashback work?
Every completed purchase returns a share of what you paid to your balance, and the balance can be spent on any future plan. The rate is shown on the offer at the time you buy.
How do invites work?
Share your code. When someone new uses it and completes their first purchase, you both get credit. The reward lands after that first purchase, not when they install the app.
Can I get a refund?
If a plan has not been used and has not started, contact support and we will refund it. Once an eSIM has connected to a network the data has been bought from the operator and cannot be returned. If a plan genuinely does not work in your destination, tell us — that is our problem, not yours.
